Juliane Brauer

Juliane Brauer is a historian and musicologist. From 1996 to 2001, she studied modern and contemporary history as well as musicology at Humboldt University of Berlin. In 2007, she received her doctorate from Freie Universität Berlin with a dissertation on music in Sachsenhausen concentration camp. She subsequently worked, among other positions, at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin in its research area “History of Emotions” and in 2012 held a substitute professorship in modern and contemporary history and its teaching at the University of Erfurt. In 2020, she was appointed professor of history education at Stiftung University of Hildesheim. She is habilitated and researches cultural aspects of modern German history.
