Jakob Arjouni (1964–2013) was a German writer who published novels, plays, short stories and radio dramas. At the age of 21, he introduced the Frankfurt private detective Kemal Kayankaya in his debut novel, “Happy Birthday, Türke!”; four further cases followed. In 1992, Arjouni received the German Crime Fiction Prize for “Ein Mann, ein Mord”. Among his other well-known novels is “Cherryman jagt Mister White”.
