Inge Jens

Inge Jens (1927–2021) was a German literary scholar, editor, and author. She studied German, English, and education, receiving her doctorate in 1953. She became known in particular for editing letters and diary writings by Thomas Mann and for contributing to cultural-historical projects. Together with her husband, Walter Jens, she published the books »Frau Thomas Mann« (2003) and »Katias Mutter« (2005). Her memoir »Unvollständige Erinnerungen« appeared in 2009. In 1999, she received the Wilhelm Hausenstein Award for her contributions to cultural mediation.
