Born in 1946, Georg Franck was professor of digital methods in architecture and spatial planning at the University of Vienna from 1994 to 2016. He published extensively on spatial economics, urban development and environmental policy, as well as on the spatial and temporal effects of new media and the philosophy of time. His best-known books include The Economy of Attention (1998) and Mental Capitalism (2005). He co-authored Architectural Quality (2008) with Dorothea Franck.
