Robert Misik, born in Vienna in 1966, is a journalist and political writer. He has worked for publications including the Berlin-based taz as well as profil, Falter, Die Zeit and the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. His books include Anleitung zur Weltverbesserung, Genial dagegen, Marx für Eilige, Was Linke denken, Herrschaft der Niedertracht, Putin. Ein Verhängnis and Das große Beginnergefühl. Misik received the Bruno Kreisky Prize for Political Books and, in 2009, Austria’s State Prize for Cultural Journalism. In 2010, he was named Journalist of the Year in the online category.
