Friedhelm Marx

Friedhelm Marx (born 1963) is a German literary scholar and professor of modern German literature at the University of Bamberg. In 2004, he took up the corresponding chair there. His research focuses on Thomas Mann, modernist literature and contemporary German-language literature. Marx has published on authors including Jenny Erpenbeck, Uwe Timm, Wilhelm Genazino and Peter Stamm. He co-edited “Wahrheit und Täuschung. Beiträge zum Werk Jenny Erpenbecks” (2014), “Über Grenzen” (2015) and the “Mann Handbuch.”
