Franco Perco

Franco Perco was a lawyer and wildlife biologist. After earning a doctorate in law, he pursued a second degree in the natural sciences. He worked in several national parks, including six years as director of Monti Sibillini National Park, and focused on protected areas, wildlife conservation and reintroduction, and wildlife management. Large carnivores were a particular interest, and he advocated a scientifically grounded approach to predator management. Perco published several specialist books and held leading positions in wildlife and conservation bodies. He died in Trieste in 2022.
