Florentine Joop, born in Hamburg in 1973, is an author and illustrator. She studied illustration design, specializing in children’s books, at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, graduating with a diploma. In 2000, she published her first children’s book, “Bonifacio und das Geheimnis der Faultiere,” which she wrote and illustrated herself. Further children’s and young adult books followed, as well as her first novel, “Harte Jungs,” in 2013. Joop has also worked as an illustrator for magazines and advertising agencies, designed stage sets and costumes, and contributed to the art magazine “ST.ART,” which received the Berliner Type Award. She is the youngest daughter of fashion designer Wolfgang Joop.
