Fernando Gomes de Morais, born in 1946, is an award-winning political journalist, screenwriter and author. From 1988 to 1991, he served as secretary-general of São Paulo’s Department of Culture; from 1991 to 1993, he held the same position at the Department of Education. His novels have been translated into 19 languages. One of his best-known works is “Olga,” whose 2005 film adaptation was nominated for an Academy Award. “The Magician” was his first biography.
