Eva Illouz (born 1961) is a sociologist. Her academic career includes a professorship in sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the position of director of studies at the Centre européen de sociologie et de science politique (CSE-EHESS) in Paris. Her research includes the social influences shaping emotions. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the EMET Prize for Social Sciences and the Anneliese Maier Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Her books have been translated into numerous languages.
