Eva Illouz (born 1961) is a sociologist. Her academic positions have included a professorship in sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a directorship of studies at the Centre européen de sociologie et de science politique (CSE-EHESS) in Paris. Her work has examined, among other subjects, the social influences shaping emotions. She has received several awards for her work, including the EMET Prize for Social Sciences. Her books have been translated into numerous languages.
