Elona Beqiraj

Born in 1997 in Lower Saxony to Albanian parents and raised there, Elona Beqiraj studied political science in Hanover. She works as an author and photographer. Her first poetry collection, »und wir kamen jeden sommer«, was published in late 2019; excerpts were exhibited at Manifesta 14 in Prishtina in 2022. In 2020, she published the photo zine »Malli – Sehnsucht«. Earlier, in 2017, she created »Redefining Beauty«, a photography project about perceptions of and attitudes toward acne during adolescence. In 2021, she led »Weil wir nicht vergessen« at the Maxim Gorki Theater, a project connected with the examination of the NSU complex. In 2023, she created »Solange wir erinnern« there with Hiyam Biary, addressing the racist attack in Hanau.
