Daniela Danz (born 1976 in Eisenach) is an author and a scholar of art history with a doctorate. She studied German literature and art history in Tübingen, Prague, Berlin, Leipzig and Halle an der Saale, and wrote her doctoral thesis on hospital church architecture during the Weimar Republic. Alongside her literary work, she worked as an art inventory specialist and museum director and taught at universities. Danz writes poetry, novels and essays, and has also written opera libretti. Her publications include the novels *Türmer* and *Lange Fluchten* and the poetry collections *Pontus*, *V: Gedichte* and *Wildniß*. Her awards include the German Nature Writing Prize (2019), the Günter Kunert Literature Prize for Poetry (2021), the German Language Prize and the Orphil Poetry Prize (both 2022), and the Thuringian Literature Prize (2023).
