Dagmara Kraus (born 1981 in Wrocław, Poland) is a German poet and translator. She studied comparative literature, art history and creative writing in Leipzig, Berlin and Paris. Her debut collection, »kummerang«, was published by kookbooks in 2012, followed by works including »das vogelmot schlich mit geknickter schnute« (2016), »wehbuch« (2016) and the children’s book »alle nase diederdase« (2018). Kraus has translated from Polish, French and English. Together with Marc Matter, she created the radio work »Entstehung dunkel«, which received the 2015 Förderpreis of the Karl Sczuka Prize. Her other honors include the Heimrad Bäcker Förderpreis (2016), the Erlangen Literature Prize for Poetry as Translation (2017), the Basel Poetry Prize (2018) and the Ehrengabe of the German Schiller Foundation (2021).
