Christian Filips (born 1981 in Osthoven) studied philosophy, German literature and musicology in Vienna and Berlin. In 2001, he received the Rimbaud Prize of Austrian Broadcasting for his first poetry collection, “Schluck auf Stein.” He worked as a dance-theatre and music dramaturge, translator and director of music theatre and drama. In 2008, he completed his studies with a thesis on Hölderlin’s late poems. His translations include texts by Pier Paolo Pasolini. In 2010, he co-founded roughbooks, a series for contemporary poetry, with Urs Engeler.
