Charlotte Runcie worked as an author, journalist and culture columnist for the Daily Telegraph, writing about radio features, podcasts and theatre. She lived and worked in Edinburgh for several years, where she also led a folk music choir. As a poet, she was named a Foyle Young Poet of the Year. Her essay collection Wie Salz auf der Zunge, about women and the sea, was BBC Radio 4’s Book of the Week. Standing Ovations is her debut novel.
