Anna Mendel

Anna Mendel was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and adopted to Germany shortly afterwards. She studied literature and linguistics and worked for twelve years as an executive assistant in the mechanical engineering industry. As an author and speaker, she addressed topics including antiracism, feminist and equal parenting, body neutrality, and autism spectrum and trisomy 21 from a parent’s perspective. In her 2021 book *Wir*, she wrote about life in a five-person family with two disabled children. Her children’s book *Linus liebt Licht* explains the significance of stimming for autistic people.
