Anja Kampmann

Anja Kampmann, born in Hamburg in 1983, studied at the University of Hamburg and the German Literature Institute Leipzig. She published poetry in literary journals and made her debut in 2016 with the poetry collection *Proben von Stein und Licht*. Her debut novel, *Wie hoch die Wasser steigen* (2018), was translated into several languages and nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize and the German Book Award. Her other works include the poetry collection *Der Hund ist immer hungrig* (2021). Kampmann has received, among other honors, the MDR Literature Prize, the Wolfgang Weyrauch Advancement Prize, the Mara-Cassens Prize, the Lessing Advancement Prize, the Rainer Malkowski Prize, and the Günter Kunert Literature Prize for Poetry. In 2024, she received the Marie Luise Kaschnitz Prize for her work.
