Aminatta Forna

Aminatta Forna was born in Glasgow and grew up in Sierra Leone before returning to England as an adult. Before becoming a writer, she worked as a journalist for BBC Television. Her second novel, Ein Lied aus der Vergangenheit, received the Commonwealth Writer's Prize, among other awards, and was shortlisted for the Orange Prize.
