Zuzanna Ginczanka was a Polish poet of the interwar period. The daughter of assimilated Russian Jews, she chose Polish as her literary language at an early age. Her poetry collection “Von Zentauren,” published in Warsaw in 1936, established her as a widely admired voice in Polish poetry. After the outbreak of the Second World War, she was on the run and was murdered by the Nazis in Kraków.
