Yukito Kishiro

Yukito Kishiro was born in Tokyo in 1967 and grew up in Chiba. He published his first comic, “Kikai,” at the age of 17 and received a Shogakukan magazine award for emerging artists. In 1991, he began work on his best-known series, “Battle Angel Alita,” also published under its Japanese title, “Gunnm.” As a child, Kishiro was particularly interested in drawing mechanical devices and monsters.
