Youngtak Kim, born in 1976 in Uiseong, South Korea’s Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, studied Sinology at Dankook University in Yongin. The South Korean film director and screenwriter was self-taught in both film and literature. In 2010, he wrote and directed the comedy „Hello Ghost“, for which he received the Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Director. Kim made his literary debut with „Bone Soup“, a science-fiction work that also became the basis for a planned television series.
