Yavuz Ekinci

Yavuz Ekinci, born in 1979 in Batman, Turkey, is a Turkish writer. His literary work addresses the lives of Kurds in Turkey. After studying education, he worked as a teacher and edited a series devoted to Kurdish exile literature. His prose has received several awards, including the Yunus Nadi Story Award, the Human Rights Association Story Award and the Yaşar Nabi Nayır Noteworthy Story Award. His novels published in German include Der Tag, an dem ein Mann vom Berg Amar kam (2017), Die Tränen des Propheten (2019) and Das ferne Dorf meiner Kindheit (2023).
