Yasmine Chami (born 1967 in Casablanca) is a Moroccan writer. She studied philosophy at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris and taught anthropology. In 1999, she published her first novel, “Cérémonie.” After the birth of her twin sons in 2001, she worked in Morocco as director of the Villa des Arts museum in Casablanca, founded a radio and film production company, and worked as a television editor. Her novels are set in Morocco and often address gender relations and social change. She received the Arab Literature Prize in the special award category in 2017 for “Mourir est un enchantement.” Her later works include “Casablanca Circus” (2023).
