Xi Xi (西西) was the pen name of the Chinese-language writer Zhang Yan. She was born in Shanghai in 1938 and died in Hong Kong in 2022. She published more than 30 books in a range of genres and styles, contributed to newspapers and magazines, and wrote screenplays. In 2019, she received the Newman Prize for Chinese Literature; in 2022, the Hong Kong Arts Development Council honored her with a lifetime achievement award.
