Wu Ming

Wu Ming is the name of an Italian authors’ collective from Bologna that previously operated under the pseudonym Luther Blissett. Formed in 1994 by subcultural activists, the group turned to literature after a series of communication-guerrilla actions. Under the name Luther Blissett, it published the historical novel Q, set during the Reformation; the book was translated into numerous languages and achieved international success. The collective subsequently continued its literary work as Wu Ming. Its novels include 54, Altai, Manituana, and The Army of Sleepwalkers, and are characterized by a critical approach to official historical narratives.
