Winston Churchill

Winston Churchill (1874–1965) was a British politician and statesman. He served in the British Parliament for 64 years and was Prime Minister twice. During the Second World War, he led Britain from 1939 to 1945. Churchill also worked as a war correspondent, essayist, and author; he received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953 for his historical works. In his spare time, he pursued landscape painting and bricklaying at his estate, Chartwell, in Kent.
