Will Quadflieg (1914–2003) was a German actor. He began taking acting lessons while still at school and started his stage career in the 1930s. His engagements included the Berlin Volksbühne, the Schiller-Theater, the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and Schauspielhaus Zürich; he also appeared at the Salzburg Festival. From 1956 to 1962, he worked under the artistic direction of Gustaf Gründgens. He became particularly known for playing the title role in Gründgens’s 1957 film adaptation of Goethe’s “Faust.” Alongside his theatre work, Quadflieg appeared in numerous film and television productions, including “Der große Bellheim” (1992), and worked as a reciter. He continued performing on stage until shortly before his death.
