Werner Wintersteiner

Werner Wintersteiner is Professor Emeritus of German language and literature education at the University of Klagenfurt. He founded its Center for Peace Research and Peace Education and was the long-time editor of the journal informationen zur deutschdidaktik (ide). His work as a peace researcher and scholar of German education has focused on cultural peace research, peace education, Global Citizenship Education, transculturality and politics of memory. His books include Pädagogik des Anderen (1999), Hätten wir das Wort, wir bräuchten die Waffen nicht. (2001), Poetik der Verschiedenheit (2006) and Die Welt neu denken lernen (2021).
