Walter Lord

Walter Lord (1917–2002) was an American nonfiction author. Born in Baltimore, he became known for his 1955 book »A Night to Remember«, about the sinking of the Titanic. In researching the work, he interviewed more than sixty survivors of the disaster. The book later served as a basis for James Cameron’s film »Titanic«, and Lord advised the director during production. He died in New York.
