Volker Quaschning (born 1969 in Leonberg, Germany) is an engineer and professor of renewable energy systems. After studying electrical engineering in Karlsruhe, he completed a doctorate in Berlin on photovoltaic systems and a habilitation on achieving a fully renewable energy supply in Germany. From 1999 to 2004, he conducted research on solar power plants for the German Aerospace Center in Almería, Spain. Since 2004, he has taught and conducted research at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (HTW Berlin). His specialist books include “Regenerative Energiesysteme” and “Erneuerbare Energien und Klimaschutz”; in 2010, he also published the nonfiction book “Mülltrenner, Müsliesser und Klimaschützer”.
