Virginia Satir (1916–1988) was a social worker and lecturer in family therapy. She studied at the University of Chicago and worked at clinics and social-psychological institutes in California. As a leader of seminars, group training sessions, and international workshops, she helped shape the development of family therapy. Satir published numerous works and is regarded as one of the field’s influential pioneers.
