Verena Reinhardt was born in Wiesbaden in 1983. She studied biology and English at universities in Mainz and Birmingham and completed a doctorate on honeybee pollination behavior between 2011 and 2014. During her doctoral studies, she wrote her first book, the novel »Der Hummelreiter Friedrich Löwenmaul«.
