Vanessa Jaeckert

Vanessa Jaeckert was born in Daun in 1976. She studied comparative literature in Bonn, then trained as a bookseller and worked in large bookshops in the Rhineland, where she specialized in young adult fantasy. The idea for “Beast Academy” emerged during this period from her wish to recommend fantasy stories to young readers that did not feature dragons, elves, or vampires.
