Valerie Steele

Valerie Steele earned a doctorate from Yale University. She worked as an author, curator, and journalist and served as director and chief curator of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. She also edited the journal Fashion Theory. Through her scholarship and curatorial work, Steele made a significant contribution to the development of fashion studies as an academic field.
