Umes Arunagirinathan

Umes Arunagirinathan was born in Sri Lanka in 1978 and came to Germany at the age of 13 as an unaccompanied refugee. He studied medicine in Lübeck and earned a doctorate from the University of Hamburg. After completing his residency at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, he worked as a cardiac surgeon in, among other places, Bad Neustadt an der Saale, Berlin, Bremen and Halle (Saale). He is a specialist in cardiac surgery and has published books on medical and sociopolitical subjects.
