Ulrike Ulrich, born in Düsseldorf in 1968, is a writer. Her debut novel, »fern bleiben«, was published in 2010, followed by »Hinter den Augen« (2013) and the short-story collection »Draussen um diese Zeit« (2015). With Svenja Herrmann, she edited anthologies marking the 60th and 70th anniversaries of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; with Axmed Cabdullahi, she published »Ein Alphabet vom Schreiben und Unterwegssein«. In 2018, she received a Pro Helvetia work grant for her novel »Während wir feiern«. Her awards include the Walter Serner Prize (2010), the Lilly-Ronchetti Prize (2011), and recognition awards from the City of Zurich.
