Ulrike Guérot (born 1964) is a political scientist, author and publicist. She studied political science, history and philosophy in Bonn, Münster and Paris and worked at think tanks and universities in Paris, Brussels, London, Washington, Berlin and Vienna. From 2016, she was Professor of European Policy and the Study of Democracy at Danube University Krems; in autumn 2021, she took up a professorship in European policy at the University of Bonn. In 2014, she founded the European Democracy Lab, a think tank focused on Europe and democracy. Her book “Why Europe Must Become a Republic: A Political Utopia” became a Europe-wide bestseller in 2016. In 2019, she received the Paul Watzlawick Honorary Ring.
