Ulla Mersmeyer

Ulla Mersmeyer was born in Bremen in 1980 and grew up there. She trained as a theater painter at the Bremen Theater, where she learned to create sets and construct stage designs. She subsequently studied illustration in Münster, specializing in children’s and young adult books. Since then, she has illustrated numerous children’s and picture books for major publishers, including several of her own picture-book series. As a child, she reportedly drew on every shopping list she could find.
