Torrey Peters, who grew up in Chicago, is an American author. She studied creative writing and comparative literature, earning an MFA from the University of Iowa and an MA from the University of Dartmouth. Peters published the novellas “Infect Your Friends and Loved Ones” and “The Masker.” Her debut novel, “Detransition, Baby,” was nominated for the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 2021, becoming the first book by a trans author to be nominated in the prize’s history.
