Thomas Halliday is a palaeontologist and evolutionary biologist. His career has included a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the University of Birmingham and work for the Natural History Museum. In 2016, he received the John C. Marsden Medal of the Linnean Society, and in 2018 he won the Hugh Miller Writing Competition. His book *Urwelten. Eine Reise durch die ausgestorbenen Ökosysteme der Erdgeschichte* was published by Hanser in 2022.
