Thomas Alkemeyer (born 1955, Dr. phil.) is a sociologist. He taught sociology and the sociology of sport at Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, where he also served as director of the Scientific Center “Genealogy of the Present.” His work focuses, among other areas, on the sociology of the body and sport, sociological theories of practice, and research on subjectivation.
