Thilo Thielke

Thilo Thielke (1968–2020) was a German journalist and author. From 1990 to 1997, he worked as an editor at “Spiegel TV” and subsequently for the news magazine “Der Spiegel.” He reported from Africa for the magazine until 2008 and then spent several years as a foreign correspondent in Bangkok. In 1997, his report on mass graves in Bosnia received a Silver award at the New York TV Festival. His published books include “Eine Liebe in Auschwitz,” “An Gott kommt keiner vorbei … Das Leben des Reinhard ‘Stan’ Libuda,” and “Traumfußball. Geschichten aus Afrika.” Thielke died in October 2020.
