Theodore Dreiser

Theodore Dreiser (1871–1945) was an American novelist and journalist. He began his career as a newspaper reporter before turning to fiction. His best-known novels include *Sister Carrie*, *The Financier*, and *The Titan*. Dreiser’s work is regarded as an important contribution to American realism and examines social divisions, ambition, capitalism, and the moral consequences of the pursuit of wealth and power.
