Teju Cole

Teju Cole, born in 1975, grew up in Nigeria and moved to the United States as a teenager. He worked as a novelist, essayist, art historian, critic and photographer. His best-known books include the novel Open City and Every Day Is for the Thief. His photographic work has been exhibited internationally. Cole received the PEN/Hemingway Award and, in 2013, the Internationaler Literaturpreis, among other honors.
