Tanja Maljartschuk, born in 1983 in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, is a Ukrainian writer and essayist. She studied philology at Ivano-Frankivsk University and subsequently worked as a journalist in Kyiv. Her works include the story collection *Nine-Percent Household Vinegar* (2009), the novels *Biography of a Chance Miracle* (2013) and *The Blue Whale of Memory* (2019), and *Of Hares and Other Europeans* (2014). In 2018, she received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize.
