Tanja Maier

Tanja Maier is a scholar of communication and media studies whose work focuses on comparative cultural analysis. She holds a doctorate (Dr. phil.) and completed her habilitation in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin. She has worked as a research associate, among other positions, at Leuphana University Lüneburg’s Institute of Communication Studies and Media Culture and at the Institute for Media Research at the University of Rostock. Her research interests include media change in the context of digitization and globalization, visual culture, Cultural Studies, gender media studies, and representations of religion in media culture.
