Sven Nordqvist

Sven Nordqvist, born in Sweden in 1946, is a Swedish author and illustrator of children’s books. He studied architecture in Lund and initially worked as an architect and lecturer in architecture. Alongside this work, he illustrated advertising materials, postcards, posters, and picture books; he also taught himself to draw through correspondence courses. In 1983, he won first prize in a children’s book competition. He became best known for the picture-book series about Pettson and Findus, which achieved international success.
