Steven Pinker

Steven Pinker (born 1954) is a psychologist and author. He studied psychology in Montreal and at Harvard University and taught for about 20 years in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. From 2003, he was a professor of psychology at Harvard University. His research has focused primarily on language and thought. His works published in German include “Gewalt. Eine neue Geschichte der Menschheit” (2011), “Wie das Denken im Kopf entsteht” (2011), “Der Stoff, aus dem das Denken ist” (2014), and “Das unbeschriebene Blatt. Die moderne Leugnung der menschlichen Natur” (2017). Pinker has received numerous honors, including being named “Humanist of the Year” in 2006.
