Steffen Kailitz

Steffen Kailitz is a political scientist. He studied political science and East Slavic studies at the University of Mannheim, completing his Magister degree in 1995. He received his doctorate from Chemnitz University of Technology in 1999 and completed his habilitation there in 2005. His professional experience includes work as a research fellow at the Hannah Arendt Institute for the Study of Totalitarianism in Dresden, where he worked from 2007 onward. His research addressed the comparative study of democracies, autocracies, and dictatorships, as well as party politics, extremism, and totalitarianism.
