Srdja Popovic

Srdja Popovic, born in Belgrade in 1973, is a Serbian political activist. He co-founded the Serbian movement Otpor!, which played a significant role in the overthrow of Slobodan Milošević in 2000. He later worked with CANVAS (Centre for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies), an organization focused on nonviolent resistance, advising activists in several countries. In 2013, Popovic was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
